This product is a neural sensing headset and gyroscope that allows a user to control certain things on a computer with their minds. The limit to what this headset can control is only limited by what is coded for its use.
And lets face it, this just sounds cool.
I think this is an awesome piece of technology because it opens up a whole new way in which people can interact with their computer. For years now all other forms of interaction have relied on skills and abilities that we already posses like movements of our hand, feet, head and pretty much the whole body. Now with this technology we will be able to completely change our way of thinking when we go and control a computer and instead use a "phantom limb" of sorts.
Here is an example of how it works with a simple game test;
Of course this opens up many different uses for this technology the first being games. The ability to control your character or pieces in your environment of the game would add a whole new element to the gaming experience. The device can also detect feelings so that could also be used to change the way you interact with other people and NPC's in a game.
But this isn't only useful to game, it could also be used to just control and use a computer. Imagine not using a mouse to control what you what to do but instead you just think about what you want done. For example if you wanted to go on the net you could just think about your web browser and it will open for you.
This technology could also more importantly be used to allow people who are unable to use a computer because of different handicaps access to them. Just imagine a person who is unable to do anything for themselves and is bound to a wheelchair suddenly being able to move that wheelchair around just by thinking about it.
The future is now and it involves mind taking!
